This light bulb is huge. HUGE. Understand that when you are looking at the picture you are probably using the screw base as a frame of reference for how big this is. That doesn't quite work because the base is "mogul" sized, meaning alot bigger than a regular base. There are adapters you can buy for around 5 bucks that make it so you can screw it into a regular sized socket, but it likely won't fit in many areas where you have regular sized sockets because the bulb is so big.

For me, my one car garage has one light fixture for ONE exposed bulb, so I needed something really bright to light up the whole garage. This doesn't quite meet my needs for that purpose, but it comes very close. I won't consider more wattage because 100w is all the fixture is rated for.

In summary: mogul base, HUGE size, soft color, very bright, just bright enough satisfactorily light a one car garage/workshop, but not enough to impress or use without supplementation when the garage is in "workshop" mode.
