Compaq iPAQ Serial Auto Sync Cable Review

I bought this cable in order to connect my iPaq to my Motorola Timeport PT8167 (or something like that). There was a lot of misinformation out there stating that in order to use the iPaq with a cell phone, that you had to purchase some sort of CF adapter (I think it's made by Socket). That's all good, but the CF adapter costs $120 or so, you have to have the CF sleeve, and if you do, you can't have anything else in the CF sleeve =(So I bought this and connected the serial cable to the iPaq, attached the supplied null modem adapter (included with my phone), attached the phone cable to the phone, set up connnection in the iPaq, and it dialed and worked. I was literally surfing the net on my iPaq within 10 minutes. The best thing about this is that my CF sleeve can hold my CF card or I can use the phone with a sleeve at all! My next project is to splice together the two cables to avoid the 15 feet of cable and cumbersome null modem adapter. I want a cable that is about 8 inches long that connects directly from phone to PDA. TCP LED17E26P3830KFL (17W PAR30 LED FL40° 3000K) Review

I have a long-term project to replace household electric devices with energy-saving ones. I bought this product to replace a 90W halogen bulb in a pendant lamp above a small round family dining table.

There were a couple of good reasons to have chosen this particular product out of similar R38 LED bulbs:
- Brightness: To be comparable with the 90W halogen bulb, at least 800-900 lumens was necessary
- Dimmable: The lamp was on a dimming X-10 wall switch
- Slim shape: The pendant lamp has a large acrylic disk and stainless cylinders on top. I tried another LED bulb before, but its heat fins were so fat that the bulb could not fit.

This product satisfies all criteria. It dissipates little heat (now I can touch the bulb surface which was impossible with a halogen bulb!) and consumes much less power.

A few non-positive things:
- The bulb may show flickering if the dimmer is set to the maximum position. "One notch down" from the top position will remove flickering. I later replaced my dimmable X-10 switch with a mechanical relay switch so that this issue is gone and the light level has increased.
- The light beam is very narrow and spotty, barely covering our small round dining table. Shadows under the beam are very crisp and dark. I wish the product had larger lighting plain (i.e. more LED elements all over the downing surface).
- The light color is somewhat yellowish and not very natural. It is not ideal for a dinner table where natural food colors are expected, and it took us some two weeks to get used to it.

These have the same construction as the blues. I get the impression from their operating appearance that the prismatic-plastic globe material has an inherent gray-blue tint to its translucency. This results in a somewhat weak red appearance, I think. I still like them, but visually they're just OK...not outstanding like the blues.

My guess is that the reds would be better looking if their globes were made from glass. I can understand how that wouldn't be feasible at this price-point...I'm just guessing that it would look better.
