The plug on our Hot Springs hot tub needed replacing. And so it began....... I spent quite a bit of time hunting online to find the correct plug as well as one that was the best deal. There is a smaller and less expensive black compact version of this plug, but it is too small and will not work, it is the same model number but preceded by a 1. (that's a whole story in itself in my quest, but I digress) I hesitated ordering this particular listing because it had the letters "PD" after the model number and there was also no picture of the item to be sure it was the correct one. I kept hunting and finally found someone who informed me that the "PD" referred to a batch lot and that it was indeed the same plug. So, I took a deep breath and ordered it......Yahoo!!! Not only was it the correct plug, but the best price (including shipping) I found in all my searches, also shipped quickly (thanks amazon) and was a snap to install! Max 5 minutes. Hopefully my angst and efforts will help another DIY!

Pelican VB3 LED, Black (1 Each) Review

I found if I didn't want this clipped to my hat, it also can clip to your shirt or to the chest strap on your pack. The light is bright for a two LED hat light and I can imagine using this as a light-weight supplement to my hand-held light on packing and camping trips. The only drawback is that you have to bring spare CR2032 batteries which probably won't be used in anything else you're packing. On the other hand, if it used AA or AAA batteries it would weight three times as much and would pull your hat down in front. Other lights I've tried are too heavy to clip to anything other than a baseball cap. I found this will work on my wide-brimmed Tilley hat (if you don't mind a bit of bobbing up and down). But it works best clipped to your shirt or chest strap. It doesn't hit people in the eye as much and it stays pretty stable.

Other heavier lights with multiple LEDs can be brighter. If you want that, I suggest you get one of the lights that strap to your head, and forgo the hat.

It isn't as bright as my previous bulb (I can't remember if it was 40w or 50w) but I'm not disappointed. The price is very steep but running 3w over 40w-50w is far preferable. I use this in a can light over the sink, it fit the fixture perfectly and it does the job just fine. The wattage difference makes up for being a little dimmer 4/5 for the price tag.

Burnt out after approximately 14,640 hours. I was expecting at least 30,000. -1 star for durability 3/5

I bought 4 of these bulbs about a year ago to replace the existing bulbs in my kitchen. They are excellent bulbs. The build quality is above average, the color temperature is just right and unlike the halogen bulbs I replaced there's no weird rainbow effect bleeding from the housings which I experienced with my old bulbs. Noticeable reduction in my electric bill too since I have these on for many hours a day.
