The Energizer Weather Ready Rechargeable LED light has an ingenious design that does not disappoint. It is perfect for power outages and I have them throughout my house.

You can leave its power switch in the "on" position and while plugged into an electrical outlet the light will stay off and the unit stays charged. Then when you have a power outage the light comes on and you can see and easily locate the unit, then unplug it and and carry it with you for a light source. And the plug folds into the unit so that it isn't in the way when you're holding the unit.

You can also leave the switch in the "nightlight/charge" position and the light remains on while the unit is plugged in and the unit stays charged.

In-between the "on" position and the "nightlight/charge" position is the "off/charge" position. The only time you might need to use this is when the unit is unplugged from the wall and you want to shut the LED light off as it is on when unplugged from the wall in either of the other two positions, or if you are going to be away from home and would like the unit to stay charged and and also not come on during an outage.

The 8 lumens LED bulb (equivalent to 15 watts) never needs replacing, has no glass or filament, and uses less energy. It has a 2 hour and 45 minute life between charges and runs off of a NiMH battery.
