The "Tsunami Fbw701-anl 1/0 or 4 Gauge in + 1/0 or 4 Gauge Out Fuse Holder" mostly a well built a product, looks good with the "Raptor RANL2502 250 Amp ANL Fuses, 24K Gold Plated". Could have been designed better.Dimensions are: 3" D x 4+ 3/8ths"W x 1 + 5/8ths" H.
There are positives and negatives:
Positives:
-Heavy contacts and hardware
-Gold plated "I think - sure looks like it"
-Accepts 1, 0, or 4 gauge with adapter rings included
-Plastic case is thick and doesn't look cheap
-Rubber ring seals.
-Looks good
Negatives:
-When the cover is off, the two large metal pieces are completely loose and can fall out of the plastic holder - this defeats one purpose of a fuse;...when working on equipment attached, you usually want to pull the fuse - but with the cover off of this, and the fuse pulled, the metal parts will easily fall out of the holder or get pulled out by heavy gauge wire - likely contacting grounded metal in the engine compartment which, on the battery side can lead to battery damage or an explosion. Because of this, I will not open the fuse holder unless I remove the positive battery terminal. I might have returned it because of this but I just don't care - I'm keeping it. Would have gotten 4-5 stars if the metal parts were attached to the case.
-The plastic case cover is approximately 3/8ths of an inch taller than it needs to be (the total thickness is 1 and 5/8ths inches), so this thing is pretty big and thick! Might be a clearance issue for some.
-4 gauge adaptor rings are a little on the thin and small side for fitting in the 0 gauge socket, which will provide less contact than tighter fitting adaptor rings would - "I'm nit-picking" - I've just seen better fitting sleeves.
-Machining could be a little smoother/ flatter for the fuse surface area so it gets better contact without having to over tightening the set screws a little more - but it's not really bad at all - most would not even see this and this might just be the one I got.
-Just before buying the Tsunami Fbw701-anl Fuse Holder" I returned a "Scosche Statusfuse Status Wafer Fuse Holder 1/0 Or 4 Gauge 10 and Out" fuse holder that I liked the construction of a little better but returned it because the digital readout was volt off of actual voltage. Instead, I choose the "Raptor RGBTMP-4C Rose Gold Positive Battery Terminal with Meter" to use as my voltage meter which is right on voltage.
Overall, it is nice enough, worth the money and I'm keeping it, though the loose metal pieces will ruin it for some I am sure!
