My plants sure perked up when I added this 48" fluorescent plant light! I'm using it in an older black light unit that I've hung from my ceiling using light chains that I bought over at the hardware store. A couple of J shaped hangers - a bit of chain - and with this Phillips plant bulb my plants have been flourishing. My apartment is like a small cave - 600 square foot with one window in the living area and another in the bedroom. Not very good if you love plants like I do. My plants were miserable & on death's door - the light from the living area window sucked badly. So I got online & ordered this light - it's not only for aquariums! I used to have 200 gallon aquariums in the past so I knew what I needed. If You'd like an indoor garden - the legal kind - this bulb is what you need - along with something to put it in. Good luck!
