Sperry Instruments CS550A Circuit Breaker Finder Review

I've had my Sperry circuit breaker finder for a few months now and found it to be pretty good at locating the correct circuit breaker for a particular outlet. I have found that from time to time, it will locate two separate breakers and identify them both as being the feed breaker. This happens even though you have gone through the steps to calibrate it. When this happens, I just turn off each breaker that it has identified, one at a time, until I shut down the transmitter and it stops beeping. Unfortunately, It is not sensitive enough to pick up the transmitter's signal through the wall to allow you to follow the wire back to the breaker box (some models do, but they are very pricey units). One word of advice; It works much better if you remove the panel cover/door to get to the wires inside of the breaker box as it doesn't always read the breakers themselves, but it will read the wires connected to the breakers. There are much better units out there at much higher prices, but if you're looking for a decent circuit breaker finder at a good price, this one should suit you fine.
