This LED light by Lightobject is a powerful red spotlight that can illuminate an entire room in a dark red hue. It also can provide a nice aesthetic in a private residence or in a commercial establishment. Yet, it can serve a more important purpose in helping individuals tweak their sleep cycles.

Circadian rhythms (daily biological cycles) are linked to light-dark cycles. Lower levels of ambient light provide cues for the body to prepare for sleep. Deep red light may provide such a cue in addition to having a calming effect when used as primary lighting in the evening. This can be helpful for shift workers or business travelers with 6 am flights. The use of red lights is common on submarines to simulate daily cycles in the absence of sunlight. With a deep red hue that can bathe entire rooms this particular light creates environment that prep individuals for bedtime. Moreover, it achieves this effect using very little electricity.

This light appears well made with solid construction, including small heat fins. Yet, one red LED light I purchased did fail. A common misconception is that LED lights do not produce heat. Actually, all LED lights produce heat and are very, very sensitive to heat. Light output drops with temperature. Additionally, the circuitry fails prematurely if heat can't be properly dissipated. I suspect that this light could benefit from larger heat sinks but this is only speculation.

One issue I had with the merchant is that I was incorrectly sent amber lights multiple times. When I brought this issue to Lightobject's attention, they responded via email that I had indeed been sent red lights. After checking their stock, they learned that their Chinese supplier labeled some amber lights red. The problem was corrected but it took too many interactions.
