Daylight 75 CFL Sprial Bulb Review

I just bought a variety of NEW CFLs to see (pun) if their light quality had changed at all from the early models I installed a few years ago. Not to belabor the obvious, but the early CFLs were awful for reading or working; every kind I tried was dull and yellow and dim.

The new crop had one GREAT light and a bunch of same-old same-olds. The bulb that outshone (pun) the rest was the MiniTwist Daylight Bulb, 18 Watt from FEIT.

The light is bright bright white white white! Consider me amazed. It really is a day-light bulb, and it looks great in my kitchen. Dunno about longevity, since I only got it this week. But it's SO good I just ordered another half dozen for other rooms. FWIW, this seems to be an outstanding product.

After living with these bulbs for a while I need to revise my comments a little:

The subject bulbs are indeed very bright white, but it is a blue-white light that's sort of hard to live with(glary? is that a word?) by itself. I found that combining one or two of these bulbs in a room with one regular CFL gave a more natural light spectrum that was easier on the eyes and still good for working or reading.
