HP Ieee 1284 Lio Module Review

I needed to loan my hp LaserJet 1300 to my mother, who is running DOS! Parallel port only. for some reason, HP left the standard parallel port off of the 1300, but did have a non-standard connector available, which with the item I purchased here, provides a very nice working parallel port.
A small door under the printer's usb port has to be removed, exposing the non-standard connector inside. The adapter plugs in snugly, while it still makes sense to protect the exposed portion of the adapter from rough handling.
When I fired up the old dos computer, I first tested the printer with the final release of Quick Books for Dos, with hp laser printer selected. It worked perfectly.
Then I ran the final release of Word Perfect for Dos. This was meant to be. Worked great! The printer was in heaven, and everything was fine.

I don't know if HP still includes this capability in any of their printers, but I appreciate that they still did when they made the 1300.
