This is a real space saver! I just installed conduit in my wall for a flat screen TV. I used a recessed cable port and duplex power source (Datacomm 45-0031-WH Recessed Low Voltage Media Plate with Duplex Receptacle, White), but I wanted to be able to provide surge protection for that outlet and, therefore, the TV. This product is hard wired to a double electrical wall box, and, similar to a GFI, will protect outlets, such as my TV, beyond it. I located it behind the cabinet containing my modem, cable box, blue ray player and wireless earphones, so now they are all surge protected without an ugly plug-in surge protector!
