It's compact, but produces ample light over my desk. The hi-lo switch is a big plus. What would have been nice? An electric outlet, such as some such fixtures have, would have been helpful. The gloss-black paint is, frankly, kind of cheap-looking. Matte or semi-flat would have looked better. (I might spray-paint mine.) The housing is fixed by only one nut and doesn't sit completely straight. It's adequate, but two nuts would have been better.
