I am attempting to replace power-hungry halogen floods in my studio. The one drawback is that LED light is very directional and feels colder than halogen. If you are a painter this can be a problem if you like to work at night.

I have tried a 24 watt Eco bulb that has little diffusion, and frankly, the light looked to me about as bright as this, since more light washes the area. I have added theatrical color correction gels to the glass, and it looks great. I have Rosco un 1/4 CTO 20X24 Amber - Rosco RS340911 on there now, and have ordered the next step lighter (Rosco Cinegel Roscosun 1/8 CTO, 20x24" Color Correction Lighting Filter). Both of these are available on Amazon for a few dollars.

In color testing, the Rosco un 1/4 CTO appears the closest in color to halogen. But now that I'm sitting in it, perhaps it is a tad more yellow? Not sure. I have been reading that the two kinds of light are quite different, and so smaller color corrections be down to personal preference. One difference may be that the halogens I'm using to test on one track against the LEDs on another pointed in different directions (being on either side of a collar tie). If LED light were bouncing off the white walls as the halogens do, there might be even less difference. Will have to see.

But honestly, the color and intensity of light is so good that I am pretty sure I will be replacing my entire studio with LED floods. Now I'm messing with very small differences in light color.
