I bought eight of these to replace my incandescent bulbs in my chick brooders. The bulbs are much cooler when lit than the other bulbs, a little bit dimmer but that works for me. The incandescent bulbs only last about three months, these last over 11 years! Plus they save energy. The red bulb is made of plastic, they look like they will last a long time. Great buy!
