We recently bought a new home with many R30 cans containing incandescent lighting and wanted to try out a CFL in one of the cans to see how it performed. We found this one to be quite satisfactory: it gives a good amount of light almost instantly when it is first activated. Then, after about 90 seconds to two minutes, it shines with a full brightness that exceeds that of our 65 watt incandescents.

Of note, this bulb is non-dimable. If you don't need dimming, this bulb could be a good choice.

Sylvania 29395 - CF30EL/TWIST/830 Twist Medium Screw Base Compact Fluorescent Light Bulb Review

I'm not sure why they don't market this bulb more. It's really a 125 watt equivalent light bulb at 2000 lumens. It's the smallest 125 or even 100 watt equivalent you can buy. It still, HOWEVER, takes a full minute to warm up to full brightness. It is a VERY bright bulbs. Most/all CFL lose lumens over their lives. People should really buy a higher lumen bulb than they need assuming you will lose 15% over the life of the bulb. I always shoot for 2000 lumens in a bulb which is usually a 27-30watt CFL and would be 125 watt old fashion bulb.

It a good, small high light output bulb.

Only negative is slower warm up than I would like...Once warm--VERY bright.
