I needed a longer version of the cable that came with my Brother printer. I tried to use another cable that I had and it didn't work. Later I found out that not all cables with the correct interfaces will work. I bought this one because it said in the description that it will work with the printer that I have and it does; I have had it for 2 month with now problems of any kind. It is really long and it seems to be about the same quality as the original cable that came with my Brother printer/copy machine. I also like the blue color which i think is better than the boring factory gray.
