3V LED Repl Bulb Review

These are for all 2-cell (3 volt) flashlights - AAA, AA, C, or D cell. Dorcy also has a similar LED bulb for 3 cells (4.5 volts). I replaced my regular incandescent bulbs with these, and it's brighter and (more importantly for me) the batteries last much longer. Not to mention the bulb itself will likely last for decades.

This bulb's spectral balance is closer to pure white than any other LED bulb I have - it's not as bluish or purplish as the others. The same model of white LED often differs from one sample to the other, so maybe I was just lucky that I got a good one...or maybe they're all this good in terms of color?

When used outside of a flashlight, the beam is wide, with a perfectly smooth and gradual falloff towards the edges...no central 'hot spot'. It couldn't be any better. Installed in any flashlight, the reflector and lens will affect the beam distribution, and it won't be so perfectly smooth once installed.

Buy one of these for each old incandescent 2-cell flashlight you have lying around the house or car - they'll quickly pay for themselves in saved batteries, and you'll feel like a kid again playing with your flashlights.
